PORTRAITS IN MOTION: THE KISS

video installation, 2005

The piece presents, on a triptych of LCD screens set in immersive environment, moving images made from digital photos taken with a cell phone. The work was inspired by the artist’s identification with Francis Bacon although duVa does not appropriates from Francis Bacon’s images or work to compose his video installations. “More than bacon’s paintings, what interests me are his ideas and his creation process to which I identify myself. The only appropriation happened in choosing the support, the triptych, which is an explicit reference to the ones used by Bacon”.
